FROM THE SERIES PRIDE OF OTTAWA:

PRIDE OF OTTAWA - WINTER FUN ON THE RIDEAU CANAL 24x36" on a Gallery Canvas     $850
The Inspiration - The difference between "We're Off To See The Wizard" & "Winter Fun..." is the foreground of the canal and the groups of skaters.

PRIDE OF OTTAWA - RED TULIPS 24x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $850
The Inspiration - The foreground focuses on the ever popular Canadian Tulip Festival. Along the Rideau Canal are thousands upon thousands of gorgeous tulips.  In my role as one of The Canadian Tulip Festival Official Artists since 2002,  I am well known for my artwork on their 5 foot tulip sculptures. Jill & The Canadian Tulip Festival.

SCENERY - LANDSCAPES/WATERSCAPES:
BIRCH TREE TRIPTYCH 36x48" on 3  1.5" Gallery Canvases   $1300
The Inspiration - I am fortunate to now live among nature. A forest of assorted trees surround me, with birch trees being one of my favorites.
Light reflects off the areas of silver foil on the heavily textured main trees for sparkle & interest.
This painting consisting of 3 canvases of 12X48" each can be hung as shown, spaced out or stepped down.

NIGHTTIME ON JOHNSON LAKE 36X18" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $490
The Inspiration - I was in a 3 woman art show with photographer Bonnie Tubman-Zimmerling & watercolorist Diana Wakely. The concept was to reproduce specific photos of Bonnies, in our respective mediums. Although this is a representation of Johnson Lake, it could be anywhere. This is the kind of vivid gorgeous scenery I see daily on the Ottawa River.

OTTAWA RIVER EVENING 48x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $1300
The Inspiration - It wasn't until we moved permanently to the Ottawa Valley, on the Ottawa River in 2011 that I began painting the incredible scenery. Across the river from us, is the Quebec shoreline and as far as we can see, it appears as pristine wilderness.

KALIEDESCOPE BIRCHES 36X40" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas    $1080
The Inspiration - It seems like most people like birch trees, I think because a stand of trees imparts serenity. Since I have moved to the Ottawa Valley, I am surrounded by beautiful trees, white birches included. I have then against a backdrop of rainbow colors with a magical sprinkling of ultrafine colored artists glitter.

FLORALS:
HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL 48x72" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $2800
The Inspiration - This very large blank canvas sat in a corner in my studio for a few years - until COVID 19! Suddenly this canvas, which had become invisible to me, was calling for me. It was mid March 2020, my in studio classes had been stopped suddenly & the world had been turned upside down. It was a scary isolating time for everyone. This painting was my way of coping & allowing me to focus on HOPE & SPRING. Because I live on the river & it was March, the river was still frozen & everywhere I looked was high white snowbanks. I was longing for Spring, & flowers & color!

ORCHIDS STANDING TALL 24x48" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $1300
The Inspiration - To be honest, this pair has remained in my own collection until now. An artist friend repeatedly (over a year) told me to paint a 4 foot tall orchid. I finally did so after 2 artists called me within 5 minutes and ended the conversation with you should paint an orchid for the upcoming Ottawa Orchid Show's 25th. Anniversary. I took that as a sign from the Universe that I should paint an orchid. It won 1st place in Oil & Acrylic and BEST IN SHOW. The following year I painted a mirror image as I thought a pair would be stunning hung where 2 walls meet in a corner or where 2 walls meet around a corner. In a corner, around a corner, or side by side, they demand attention!
Place tightly side by side or hang on a wall corner, 1 painting on each wall.

SCULPTED POPPIES 27x42" on a handcrafted canvas      SOLD ~ THANK YOU TO THE BUYER!!!
The Inspiration - I love poppies for their paper like thin ruffled petals. Due to my palette knife technique, I can achieve loads of texture that create wonderful shadows when light hits the surface.
This is a thinner canvas more like a regular canvas but with unique notches in the corners which does not show in these images. The canvas edges are painted so you can hang as is or could frame if desired.

SCULPTED IRISES 27x42" on a handcrafted canvas      SOLD ~ THANK YOU TO THE BUYER!!!
The Inspiration -  Irises are a favorite floral for me to paint. My goal is to achieve the velvety soft, rounded & folded over petals.
This is a thinner canvas more like a regular canvas but with unique notches in the corners which does not show in these images. The canvas edges are painted so you can hang as is or could frame if desired.

SPRINGTIME TULIPS #1  42x27"on a handcrafted canvas     $600
The Inspiration - I was gifted 5 handmade canvases with unique corners (which don't show on these photos). These are thinner canvases more like a regular canvas but with unique notches in the corners.

SPRINGTIME TULIPS #2   42x27" on a handcrafted canvas     $600
The Inspiration - I was gifted 5 handmade canvases with unique corners (which don't show on these photos). These are thinner canvases more like a regular canvas but with unique notches in the corners.

PARROT TULIP TRIPTYCH 48x36"on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $1300
The Inspiration - My love of swirls, art deco, & silver foil resulted in this triptych.
Parrot tulips have such attitude, they are dressed ready for a party.

CANADIAN FLAME TULIPS 24x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $650
The Inspiration - These tulips are like magic! They start out yellow with a bit of red on the bottom, as they mature they transform from yellow to white & the red develops into a flame. The red represents the maple leaf.

GOLDEN SYMPHONY 24x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $650
The Inspiration - Swirls, silver foil, however this time I am going for muted colors for a change. When I paint tulips I love to paint open tulips so the viewer can see into the center to the stamens. Dimension is key!

TULIP TIME 24x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $650
The Inspiration - Long winter, want spring so... take matters into my own hands.
Sizzling colors against a vibrant background.

ROYAL FUSCHIA  20x40" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $600
The Inspiration - Luxurious velvety folds of the petals, the curved ribs of the buds.
I was on a mission to achieve all of that & pleased with the result.

GORGEOUS GERANIUMS 24x48" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $860
The Inspiration - Why paint a pot of geraniums when you can focus on a smaller portion & blow it up for maximum impact. The smaller buds on the bottom right are  especially textured, they are actually hand rolled to provide particular interest.

FLORAL SERIES ON BLACK:
SPRING PROMISE 30x40" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas   $900
The Inspiration - My favorite seasons are Spring & Summer. I love to see the winter white melt away & the vibrant colors pop in the form of all flowers. I do however have a fondness for tulips & irises. Painting on black allows my choice of colors to pop even more. This particular painting has some dark green mixed in the black on the background, for a bit of a change. I do enjoy working on detail to create dimensional looking shapes as in the curve of the petals. It is all about the highlighting & shading on petals & leaves to achieve the dimensionality & velvety appearance.

PINK TULIP BOUQUET  18X36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $490
A SINGLE GLORIOUS TULIP 12x48" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $400

PRETTY TULIPS IN VASE 18x24" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $325

PORTRAIT OF AN IRIS 12X48" on a 1.5" gallery canvas     $400

FRUIT SERIES:
GOLDEN PEAR  24x36" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $650
The Inspiration - My instinct is to paint fine detail but sometimes loosening it up is very freeing. I had spent a few years focusing on the finest of detailed brushwork. It was high time to pick up the palette knives & a jar of texture medium & let go. For 20 years prior to committing to life as a full time artist, I was a cake designer & cake decorating instructor so cake knife/palette knife  & a jar of texture medium/icing, it all came naturally. I was thrilled with the result & it does have a glow to it that I LOVE!

GARDEN OF EDEN GOLDEN PEAR 30X40" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $900
The Inspiration - The following 3 paintings were inspired by a Sarah Ban Breathnach book titled SOMETHING MORE, the cover illustrator Margaret Chodos Irvine.
I had  gone through 2 years of health challenges which felt like a period of hell but in fact was my HUGE life transformation #1. It was actually a GIFT but I didn't know that during what felt like the hardest period of my life.
I had never read inspirational books only fiction prior to my transformation. Sarah's book was the first self help book I picked up as I was emerging on the other side. I went on to read hundreds of inspirational books, I couldn't get enough of the exciting concepts of  Law of Vibration/ transformation/soul searching/authentic self...
I had already adopted the swirl design to represent my roller coaster feeling/hang on tight, things are going to get exciting.

GARDEN OF EDEN TEMPTATION 30X40" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas      $900
The Inspiration - As I had named this series Garden of Eden, obviously the tempation of the apple was next up.

GARDEN OF EDEN L'ORANGE 36x48" on a trio of regular canvases     $1300
The Inspiration - Following the Pear on a red background(1) & Temptation on a yellow background(2), naturally an orange would be next. The background became a mix of the previous 2 backgrounds with the addition of tiny glass beads & a smattering of color corresponding glitter. Then there was the GO BIG OR...
This trio is adhered together to act as 1 canvas.

THREE PEARS 36x18" on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $490
The Inspiration - I am a fan of pears & odd numbers.
Texture & lots of metallic leaf (gold and variegated) makes this piece stand out & sparkle!

ABSTRACTS:
IN MOTION  30x40"on a 1.5" Gallery Canvas     $900
The Inspiration - I have always loved swirls, it represents my spiritual path as a full time artist.
Bubbles moving along the swirls provided the motion I wanted against the textured monochromatic background.

ANIMAL KINGDOM:
WHERE MY WILD THINGS ARE 24x48" on a regular canvas     $860
The Inspiration - Who doesn't love animals with attitude & carousels?
The bold graphic zebra stripes & giraffe spots, the sparkly silver leaf background,
& most especially the soulful eyes, it all just makes me smile!
